The new album "Valleys of Neptune," which is made up of studio recordings that Jimi Hendrix made in 1969 and 1970 (after completing "Electric Ladyland") will be released on March 9.
The disc was completed with the help of Hendrix's longtime engineer Eddie Kramer and includes Hendrix's last studio recordings with the Jimi Hendrix Experience group, plus recordings with bassist Billy Cox who performed on the "Band of Gypsies" album. The disc will also include the track "Mr. Bad Luck," which was recorded in 1967.
Most of the music has been released in other forms (some only in bootleg), but this is the first official release of the music in this form.
